ORTHOPAEDICS: LOWER LIMB DEFORMITY SURGERY - FEET
Bunion, forefoot deformity
We pay special attention to the surgical correction of painful forefoot deformities.
The most common deformity is hallux valgus, bunions, incorrectly referred to by patients as bunions.
MUDr. Daniel Horáček has been operating since 2004 using the method of Dr. L.S. Barouk, a French orthopedist, whose method of four necessary surgical steps leads to a reliable and permanent correction of the bunion.
This method of surgical treatment has seen a tremendous boom in Western European countries in recent years. The team of orthopaedic surgeons at our Clinic also uses other modern surgical methods that lead to successful correction of the deformity.
Operations
The time a patient spends in the operating room is individual.
Before the operation, the surgeon will inform the patient in detail about the plan for the surgical solution of the deformity and the nature of the materials used.
Upon arrival at our facility, an anaesthesiologist will visit the patient and discuss with the patient the appropriate method of anaesthesia and post-operative analgesia.
Postoperative course
After surgery, the patient is followed in the postoperative ward, where his condition is continuously monitored.
Further treatment is then carried out in the superior beds of our facility, where the patient is cared for by a team of experienced nurses, orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists.
During the hospitalization, rehabilitation is carried out with regard to the type of surgery and the patient's needs.
Complications and risks
Every surgical procedure carries certain risks, which the patient is informed and educated about in advance.
The most common complications include thromboembolic disease, inflammatory complications or secondary healing.
